Welcome to the first SubNotAClone patch note! I plan on doing this weekly or biweekly to keep everyone up to
date with how the game is advancing. Maybe the first and third Monday of every month? Or every Monday? We'll
see.
Warning: you probably won't be able to even launch the game! Until the game is in a playable state, this is mostly
for my own history!
Feature: Hub area music!
Thanks Quin!
This light atmospheric track has not gotten old, despite me having listened to it at least 100
times so far this week! I look forward to workshopping more hub music ideas as the manager character and
setting fill out more in the coming weeks.
Feature: Blueprints and the microwave.
You can craft items in the middle of a mission by inserting a blueprint into the microwave, and pressing the
big green button. The microwave will chew up the blueprint (and in the future, resources as well), and spit
out your newly crafted item!
Feature: Batteries, and the battery charger!
The flashlight now requires a charged battery to be inserted to be turned on. When the juice runs
out, just leave your battery on the charger and you'll be ready to delve into the depths in no time!
**Also, now you can press L to toggle your light on or off
Feature: Ship weapon ammo!
The ship gun now requires ammo to fire, consumed from an ammo crate. There is currently no way
to get more ammo, so use it wisely!
Feature: Debug menu!
Thanks Jacob!
Press tilde (~) to open the debug menu, where you have access to plenty of
helpful debug and testing tools. There are standard options for teleporting (to players,
subs, and POIs), spawning items, and health management.
In the bottom pane are more special debug options, such as the “Catfish Music” panel that
allows customization of the volume and spatial blend of all music layers in the first level.
Also in the bottom pane you'll find the submarine options menu, where you can instantly
drain water and fix holes in subs, and modify the acceleration, drag, and radar ping delays.
Feature: A shitty ass diegetic escape menu!
I'm going to replace this 100%, this was a failed experiment. But this is your only
option to change music or sound effects volume, as well as mouse sensitivity.
Other minor changes
Minor performance fix: Batch static meshes in the submarine
Minor performance fix: Disallow collision between intra-sub tiles
